WHAT IS IT?
Hacky Easter is a white-hat hacking competition for fun and education. Its goal is to combine IT security challenges with elements of gamification, such as a mobile app. The competition is hosted by the well-known Hacking-Lab platform, and is running until May 31.
WHAT IS TO BE DONE?
Participants have to solve challenges on both the competition's web-site, and in the accompanying mobile app, available for android and iOS. The result of solving a challenge is an Easter egg holding a QR code. When scanned with the mobile app, points are given as a reward.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Everybody can join the competition for free. It is not required to be an IT security professional, as there are challenges of different difficulty and topics, including:
- cryptography
- programming / scripting
- mobile phone features
- web security
- reverse-engineering
- forensics / steganography
